Baruch Hashem! It is on the run from our beloved Michael.....Hashem granted you strength of body and soul to fight....and gave the surgeon his skill to help you.
ReplyDeleteKeep getting better and we are continuing to daven for you....it has been "all consuming" Tefillos in the merit of your recovery.
Baruch Hashem.....He is with ALL of us ! Love..Cathy and Russ
Baruch Hashem! Michael not only weathered his surgery well, but the surgery, although arduous and long, was performed by his surgical team with a precision and perfection that even surpassed their known competencies. That is truly a sign that G-d rules the operating room as He rules every other crevice of the Universe.
ReplyDeleteMany people may question some of Mike's references to battle and his warrior mentality, and even wonder why someone as life loving and happy-go-lucky as Mike would conjure up such metaphors, so much a departure from his basic nature. But I am married to a true warrior, one tested in real battles, and I have some insight into why Mike would assume this persona. Many men, despite peace-loving, and gentle demeanors, when faced with certain challenges, want to believe that they will acquit themselves with bravery, that they can indeed become warriors and defeat threats to themselves and their families. It is a primal and essential aspect to a man's nature, and Mike certainly felt that determination to channel the rage, gird for the battle of his life, and demonstrate to his children and wife, that he would fight heroically against this very real enemy which was attacking him from within, which is even worse than being attacked from outside your own body.
Any doctor will tell you that medicine can only go so far in the fight waged against cancer: the patient's mental attitude carries the rest of the success. Mike fought like a tiger; he raged and loved, he roared and prayed. He had so much to live for that anything but total victory was an impossibility.
Dear Mike, Michael and I salute your courage, acknowledge your bravery, tip our hats in respect to your toughness, and know that although heroes return to their homes, assume peaceful lives, and appear to be the same as before the war, they are not, ever again. Welcome back, Mike, whoever you are, now....
Thank you Adam for posting..so glad to hear that your Dad has made it through the surgery and is on the rode to recovery..love , hugs and Kisses to all of you

Adam,
ReplyDeleteThank you for picking up the gauntlet and letting those who come to Michael's website daily get your wonderful message. Yesterday, we all sat waiting and praying - difficult in the face of such uncertainty and risk. Hashem, of course, engineered and knew the outcome as Michael was in the protective embrace of His Wings. It was so good to hear Lisa and you speaking out the miracle of the day, even the magic of the day as Pei Daled, Mike Sternberg, Andrea, Allison, and the 15 that saw it through to the amazing news at the end of 11 hours! Hashem gave us a glimpse of His Love and Mercy and we await Michael's return to us when we can laugh and embrace him with our collective joy. Love, Naph
I also want to thank you for posting. It is amazing to me how your family continues to think of others. We will continue praying for your father's continued road to recovery. Please call on us if you need anything at all.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Gail, Marty and Ruchie

ReplyDeleteMichael, knowing (as everyone knew) the date of your surgery and that it was a success (thank you, Adam, for posting), I see, too, that it's been several days since your last post. Hopefully, this means you're making great strides. Our family is wishing you a full recovery, a complete conquering of your enemy, and continued strength flowing from within your family.
ReplyDeleteCasey Hirsch, and family
This past week we visited a concentration camp in Poland and a forest where many Jews were shot in Latvia where we heard about many Jewsih heros. You were never far from our thoughts and prayers. Your faith and attitude make you a hero also.
ReplyDeleteJon emailed me with more good news. Hope you'll be home soon to your blessed family
ReplyDeleteMichael Graub
Dear Michael, I am so happy to hear this good news. I have been checking your blog everyday and praying for you every day (and I finally figured out how to post, a much smaller miracle). I hope to be speaking with you at home soon!

ReplyDeleteMichael,
It has been quite awhile since you have posted anything. I hope your recovery is going well. It has been quite some time since I have posted anything, you're the one that has the legitimate reason, I've neglected it. Anyway, I believe I have found something that helps me better understand why you are dealing with this and along with your own pain you're watching your family live this with you. As always at least this tid bit has taught me a valuable lesson.
"There is a story that tells it all. On the awesome day of Rosh Hashana, of the year 5507 (1746), the Baal Shem Tov lay down in deep meditation and ascended to the holy chamber of Moshiach.
"Master" he asked,"when shall you come?"
The answer: "When your wellsprings shall spread to the outside."
-The wellsprings are are the wellsprings of the deepest inner wisdom. Not only the water of the wellsprings, but the wellsprings themselves must spread forth. When the furthest reaches of the material world shall become wellsprings of the innermost wisdom, then the Moshiach shall come.
This is our mandate now. Don't be satisfied with drinking from the wellsprings. Become one, wherever you are.-The Lubavitcher Rebbe
This doesn't make your struggle any easier. It doesn't make your family more comfortable with your struggle. It does shed light on this journey. Through this hardship, with all it's affects, you have risen above drinking from the wellsprings. You are becoming one. May we all merit the ultimate redemption with your help and our contribution, of Moshiach right away!
Be well.
Michael
Hi, Michael! I've seen Phil twice this past week, and both times he gave me a great report about you! Boruch Hashem! Keep up your fight as we keep up our prayers. You are in our thoughts and in our hearts. Love, Marcia and Larry
